| Scientific name: Sus scrofa Common name: Feral hog; feral pig.
The feral hog (Sus scrofa) has become the largest environmental problem we have on the Sula-Richards Farm.
Hogs can't sweat, so they like to wallow in the mud around Turtle Pond to stay cool and ward off sunburn and insects. They frequent the shallow slope along the south-east corner of the pond.
