Taxon: Neithea occidentalis
Location: Road cut, west of Dripping Springs, Texas
Geologic Information: Cretaceous, Glen Rose formation.
Date Collected: December 29, 2010 | | This Neithea occidentalis was found in a thick, moist brown mud layer sandwiched between harder matrix layers in the roadcut. It needed no matrix removal at all, other than washing the mud off. It is a fine specimen, with both the right and left valves present.
