Family Nymphalidae

Nymphalidae is a large family containing what are known as Brush-footed Butterflies.

Here are some of the characteristics which differentiate the family Nymphalidae:

  • bodies covered with hairy scales
  • reduced forelegs
  • strong fliers

The genera of Nymphalidae for which I have photographs are listed below.

  • Libytheana is the genus which contains the Snout Butterflies.
