June 10, 2015. Jeez, I've been neglecting my web pages. Anyway, added a page listing the posts I've made to the Fossil Forum. April 22, 2013. Added a page documenting the December 28, 2012 bird count that we did for the farm's wildlife management plan. December 4, 2009. Added a species page for Libytheana carinenta, commonly known as the American Snout Butterfly. Also added a photograph page for a Red-bellied Woodpecker seen at Cameron Park in Waco, Texas. November 17, 2009. It's always exciting to add a top-of-the-foodchain predator; so here is Lynx rufus, more commonly known to us as the Bobcat. November 15, 2009. With some expert help, I have been able to move an unknown Robber Fly to a genus. What is particularly interesting is that this Robber Fly is probably undescribed at this time. Pretty exciting news for the Sula-Richards Farm: possibly, a new species waiting to be named! (Currently it is known only as Proctacanthus species.) November 9, 2009. Added a page for Sympetrum corruptum, the Variegated Meadowhawk dragonfly. October 14, 2009. Added a page for Zanthoxylum clava-herculis, the Southern Prickly-ash. Also, added a page for the insect family Asilidae which contains the Robber Flies. And finally, added a page for Picoides scalaris, the Ladder-backed Woodpecker. September 25, 2009. Added a page for Cardinalis cardinalis, the Northern Cardinal. September 20, 2009. Added a page for Vireo griseus, the White-eyed Vireo. September 8, 2009. Added an index to systematics photograph pages; placed links to this index and also the index to the farm field guide to their respective page entries.Also added pages for: Archilochus colubris, the Ruby-throated Hummingbird; Polioptila caerulea, the Blue-gray Gnatcatcher; and Ardea herodias, the Great Blue Heron. And here's a recent photograph of feral hogs taken on September 6, 2009 out at the farm. July 26, 2009. Added an index to the farm field guide. Also added a page for Canis lupus familiaris, better known as Rudy, our dog. July 18, 2009. Added pages for two species of Gaillardia found on the farm: Red Gaillardia (Gaillardia amblyodon) and Indian Blanketflower (Gaillardia pulchella). July 8, 2009. Added a page for the flower Crow's Poison (Nothoscordum bivalve) to the farm field guide. July 2, 2009. Added pages for a couple of birds found on the farm: Turkey Vulture (Cathartes aura) and Painted Bunting (Passerina ciris). June 21, 2009. Added a page for a lovely flower, the Lanceleaf blanketflower (Gaillardia aestivalis), found last month on the farm. Also added a page for an Eastern Screech Owl (Megascops asio), which we found in our garage. April 2, 2009. Added a page documenting the February 28, 2009 bird count that my sister did out on the farm. Also added more farm field guide pages and systematics pages. February 11, 2009. Added a page documenting the November 29, 2008 bird count that we did for the farm's wildlife management plan. Also added more farm field guide pages and systematics pages, mostly of birds seen during the bird count. January 9, 2009. Added some farm field guide pages for the following species: Wood Duck (Aix sponsa), Feral Hog (Sus scrofa), Yaupon Holly (Ilex vomitoria), and American Beautyberry (Callicarpa americana). Also beginning to create pages for photographs of plants and animals that aren't from the farm; I call these my Systematics pages. June 8, 2008. Still adding more chess board images using table tags instead of full image for each board. March 17, 2008. Began using table tag for chess board images, instead of full image for each board; this will save disk space over time. Now have content for Certhia americana and Sciurus niger. November 24, 2007. Added gallery page, but there isn't any content yet. Added some of the infrastructure for a Field Guide to the Sula-Richards farm; not much content yet, except for an entry to the Eastern Fox Squirrel (Sciurus niger). Removed Waterloo Station Gazette pages, since they are now on the society's website. October 20, 2007. Slowly working on creating chess board images as a 8x8 grid. This will save space. But not yet finished implementing. July 23, 2007. Added Lab to footer, although nothing much on that page yet. April 22, 2007. I have read that well-designed web pages do not contain a link to themselves; so I changed the footer of my pages so that the main pages (like Home, or ChessTable, or Bookshelves) will have plain text rather than a link if you are on that page. Also added a couple more chess games from the Bryan Chess Club tournament that took place in October, 2006. Pr: chess repertoire, comics, music collection, s. james. October 30, 2006. Figured out how to generate smaller PDF files, so swapped out the overly huge Waterloo Station Gazette. Added a table for USCF-rated chess games, and a recent game (Richards-Pettigrew). October 19, 2006. Added a page for Sherlockiana; initial content is the current issue (October 2006) of the Waterloo Station Gazette. October 1, 2006. No longer using shtml pages; every page now has .html extension. Added a border to each page, which makes it easier to read. There's also a picture now for the Stone Library. September 12, 2006. Added: PGN to the Richards-Sula chess game; page for Contact Info; copyright line at bottom of all pages. There may not be much in the way of content yet but, by golly, it's copyrighted! August 4, 2006. The domain www.earlrichards.com makes a permanent appearance on the Internet! First page of content is an on-going correspondence chess game with MeeJa. |
